FLICKTIPS  |  YOUR TURN  |  VIDEO AND FLASH

You can paste, add, and add scaled Flash tracks into a QuickTime movie to reduce file size and to add interactivity. QuickTime 4 only recognizes Flash 3 files, not Flash 4.

One way to reduce your movie's file size is to use Flash for the credits.

You can also use Flash to create the illusion of real-time streaming. By starting your movie with a Flash segment, you can entertain your audience right away as the rest of your movie downloads in the background.

A great way to digitally copyright your movie is to add an invisible Flash button linking back to your own web site.

The chase movie uses Flash to speed up download time and to link back to FlickTips.

As an aside, you can also use Flash to build a custom interface that sits on top of your video track. To do this, import your movie into the Flash authoring software, sync your interactive layers, then export out only the Flash part and paste it onto your original movie using QuickTime Player. This will preserve your vector animation and ensure the best possible quality.

You are now ready to edit the chase movie.
