Complaint: "It may be digital, but it sounds nothing like a CD." People notice bad audio before they notice poor video quality. It's all about high quality microphones. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. CD Quality sound is 44 kHz, 16-bit stereo audio. The higher these numbers, the higher the audio quality (and the larger the file size). Stereo sound takes up twice as much space as mono sound. You can reduce file size by cutting down to 22 kHz or 11 kHz audio, or by using audio compression like MP3 or QDesign. Listen to your soundtrack with both good and bad speakers (because your audience will too). One more thing -- lips may move out of sync at low frame rates or in real-time streaming video.
